New Delhi, May 14 (KNO): Tri-services chiefs, including General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff; General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff; Air Chief Marshal A P Singh, Chief of the Air Staff; and Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff called on President Droupadi Murmu here on Wednesday.
A Rashtrapati Bhavan statement in possession of the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, “They briefed the President on the successful conduct of Operation Sindoor”
“The President praised the bravery and dedication of the Armed Forces, which made India’s response to terrorism a resounding success.”
"General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff, along with General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff, Air Chief Marshal A. P. Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, and Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, called on President Droupadi Murmu and briefed her about Operation Sindoor. The President commended the valour and the dedication of the Armed Forces that made India’s response to terrorism a sterling success," the statement reads.
Notably, “Operation Sindoor” was a series of precision missile strikes conducted by the Indian Armed Forces on May 7, 2025, targeting nine terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
The operation was a direct response to the Pahalgam attack, aimed at neutralizing terrorist camps linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen.
The strikes were carried out at around 1:00 AM on May 7, lasting 23 minutes, using Indian Air Force (IAF) jets, including Sukhoi-30MKI fighters armed with BrahMos missiles, SCALP cruise missiles, Crystal Maze-2 missiles, Hammer precision-guided munitions, and Spice-2000 bombs—(KNO)
